The Business Relationship Analyst is a blended role that combines business/system analysis skills with customer relationship management experience to provide insightful customer engagement and thoughtful solution development. The position will work closely with internal customers and the SIG IT department to document the current state of business processes and workflows to be able to enable effective solution design and capability delivery. Possess an ability to step into new situations and quickly comprehend the environmental landscape is paramount as this position will work across a wide variety of functional areas and targeted systems. Reporting to the Director, Business Relationship Management (BRM), this position will be directly involved in working with our functional customers to evaluate strategic opportunities identified in the IT strategic planning process. This position will concurrently work alongside Business Relationship Managers to support the advancement of strategic opportunities to determine viability and potential business value. This position will be vital to increasing the analytical capacity and opportunity assessment ability of the BRM team. The emphasis in this role is heavily skewed to the analyst component but relational skills are important to build customer trust and understanding. Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Strong business acumen, and ease with a "big picture" understanding of business processes and the ability to drill-down into details as situationally required.
Lead business processes/opportunity discussions to analyze and document business requirements into requirements, specifications, business process diagrams, and workflows.
Understand and synthesize large data sets and multiple sources of documentation to create high-level requirements that support customer, team, and company goals. Partner with IT to translate business requirements into functional requirements and specifications.
Coordinate/facilitate cross-functional teams including the creation of status updates and management of detailed work plans.
Structure and complete analyses and research to solve operational problems, establish/refine business processes, develop growth strategies, or conduct other initiatives in support of the strategic planning team.
Lead discovery sessions and be able to discuss complex ideas with team members with various levels of understanding.
Ability to work in concert with the BRM team, IT team, stakeholders, and 3rd party vendors as may be required.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines.
High energy, enthusiasm, and the ability to succeed in a dynamic work environment.
Self-starter with excellent follow-through.
Drive projects with minimal guidance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Cultivate a deep understanding of the needs of business customers, identifying opportunities and making recommendations on how to leverage technology to accelerate and meet business goals. Collaborate with business leaders to prioritize technology investments.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business and technology leaders, stakeholders, and customers as well as vendors.
Strategically align, manage, report, and govern assigned functional project portfolios and act as an escalation point and advocate for the business customers.
Provide informed input to guide in conceptualization, evaluation, and implementation of IT strategies, plans, and priorities for Information Technology solutions that support and enable SIG's long-term vision.
Coordinate cross-functional business and IT teams to develop the business case, identify outcomes, and obtain approvals to prioritize and implement required technology.
Collaborate closely within the relationship management team to share insights, cross-pollinate customer-driven technology trends, and identify improvement opportunities.
Partner with Project Managers and the collective information technology team to share information, manage client expectations, and present a unified response to prioritized requests.
