Job Description:
SummaryReporting to the Director of Community Affairs for
Concord Hospital - Laconia and Concord Hospital - Franklin and a
staff member of the Concord Hospital Trust, the Philanthropy
Officer is a professional generalist in the field of philanthropy.
Operating independently within defined goals and standards, the
Philanthropy Officer manages a portfolio of responsibilities
including, but not limited to, corporate cultivation, solicitation
and stewardship, special event execution, individual donor and
prospect relationship management, including cultivation and
solicitation using a moves management approach. The Philanthropy
Officer responds positively to annual financial and programmatic
goals, developing and implementing dedicated activities to achieve
those goals. As required, the Philanthropy Officer recruits, trains
and manages community volunteers to support the work of the Trust,
assuring the most effective use of human resources and a high
degree of volunteer engagement and satisfaction.EducationBachelor's
Degree requiredCertificationCurrent valid Driver's
License.ExperienceThree to five years dedicated fundraising
experience in a variety of roles that represent progressively
increased responsibility. Demonstrated ability to manage a
portfolio of donors and donor prospects, moving them through the
cycle of giving to solicitation, onto stewardship and sustained and
increased giving. Demonstrated ability to manage special
fundraising events; including social and athletic events.
Documented outcomes resulting from personal, one-on-one asking for
contributions. Previous volunteer and program management experience
highly desirable. Effective interpersonal relations, communication
and presentation skills both written and verbal. Ability to model a
highly professional presentation in all circumstances and,
especially, to donors and the public. Microsoft Office experience
required and Blackbaud Raisers Edge experience preferred. Previous
prospect research and management experience a
plus.ResponsibilitiesManage revenue and expense budgets to support
assigned philanthropy activities, in accordance with Trust goals
and adopted efficiency benchmarks.Creates and implements a variety
of activities within an annual operating plan to support overall
Trust goals and benchmarks.Manages a personal portfolio of up to 50
donors and prospects, creating and implementing individual
relationship management plans to cultivate and solicit donors to
new and increased contributions.Recruits, trains and oversees
volunteers associated with assigned philanthropy activities,
producing engaged, satisfied ambassadors on behalf of the
Trust.Creates and executes special events, fundraising and
stewardship, to produce agreed upon outcomes, managing all details
and vendor relationships independently; including the development
and adherence to special events budgets for events within
respective portfolio.Independently crafts all communications
required to execute on identified responsibilities and
goals.Participates in Trust team activities to cultivate, solicit
and recognize donors.Coordinates promotional and publicity
activities, including the development of collaterals, in
conjunction with philanthropy and public affairs staff to create
visibility on behalf of Concord Hospital Trust and its special
