Job Description:
Will develop and file quarterly rates, monitor and report on
experience data, price benefit plans, and provide ad hoc analytics in
support of market strategy. Perform forecasting and trend development, and
prepare rate models. Leverage the impact of the Affordable Care Act
regulations to adjust models and reporting. Collect and review data for
major deliverables such as rate filings, trend reports, monthly
business updates, reserves, and ad hoc projects. Prepare calculations and
analyses, review and summarize results, communicate results, and anticipate
potential issues or questions. Respond to changes in regulations and identify
market issues that impact actuarial work. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science,
Mathematics, Economics, Business or related field (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent) plus 1 year of experience providing actuarial
forecasting for the healthcare, life, property/casualty, or financial services
markets. Must have passed at least three (3) examinations in the Society
of Actuaries exam series. Also required 1 year of experience in
each of the following skills: (1) Applying actuarial, underwriting, and
financial principles within one of the following markets: the healthcare,
life, property/casualty, or financial services; (2) Utilizing
Microsoft Excel, including the ability to use functions, pivot tables, and basic
macro editing; and, (3) Utilizing data analysis software (such as SAS,
SQL, or Microsoft Access), in order to extract and manipulate large data
