Job Description:

Albany Medical Center, an innovative healthcare provider, seeks a dedicated Clinical Nurse III for our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This position ensures the provision of high-quality post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia, encompassing both critical and non-critical care requirements. The role demands a thorough understanding of recuperative processes and vigilant monitoring to effectively manage patients' vital functions post-procedure, adhering to advanced nursing practices and compliance with hospital protocols. Monitor patient vital signs and adjust recuperative interventions as needed. Evaluate patients' post-operative recovery and readiness for discharge from the PACU. Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other nursing staff to optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care requirements and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Strong clinical judgment and decision-making skills. High proficiency in managing adverse reactions and complications following anesthesia. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Capability to work collaboratively in a high-stress environment. Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse (CPAN) or Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA) certification preferred.
