Roles & Responsibilities Provide expert telemetry monitoring and manage cardiac step-down patients with confidence Perform advanced procedures and manage devices such as chest tubes, pacemakers, and tracheostomies when needed Deliver safe high-flow oxygen and BiPAP management and respond to CIWA and post-procedure needs Support procedures commonly performed on the unit, including thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, and cardiac cath post-care within unit guidelines Document care accurately in Meditech Expanse and participate in bedside shift rounds and handoffs Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and execute individualized patient care plans Maintain appropriate patient ratios and contribute to smooth unit flow and staffing teamwork Qualifications Active RN license (must meet state requirements for New Hampshire assignment) Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with telemetry or cardiac step-down experience strongly preferred Current BLS and ASLS certifications required Comfortable with 12-hour shift work and working every other weekend as scheduled Proficiency with Meditech Expanse or similar documentation systems is highly desirable Experience with pacemaker care, chest tube management, high-flow oxygen, BiPAP, CV procedures, and CIWA is a plus Education Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Current RN licensure required Knowledge & Skills Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills Familiarity with cardiac management and post-cath lab patient considerations Competence in chest tube, tracheostomy, and pacemaker care Comfort managing high-flow oxygen therapy, BiPAP, and ventilatory adjuncts Skilled in IV/infusion pumps including Kangaroo pumps and standard IV pump management Solid documentation practices in Meditech Expanse and effective bedside handoff communication Ability to work in a fast-paced 20-bed unit with 5:1 patient ratios Benefits Comfortable travel assignment perks tailored to keep you happy on the road Supportive team environment where your skills are respected and celebrated Licensure assistance and reimbursement to help keep your credentials current Work-life friendly schedules with clear rotation patterns Opportunities to sharpen advanced cardiac and telemetry skills Professional dress code and a workplace committed to safety and patient experience Access to continuing education and on-the-unit learning Travel Perks: Explore Portsmouth, NH Portsmouth is a charming New England seaport with a lively downtown, waterfront parks like Prescott Park, and historic sites such as Strawbery Banke Museum.
