The role requires advanced clinical skills and the ability to manage a variety of cardiac-related procedures and equipment within a busy 20-bed unit. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver competitive nursing care to step-down patients recovering from cardiac and medical-surgical conditions. - Utilize advanced skills such as managing thoracentesis, peritoneal dialysis, tracheostomies, pacemakers, and cardiac catheterizations. - Care for patients requiring high-flow oxygen therapies, BiPAP ventilation, and continuous telemetry monitoring. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient-centered bedside shift rounds and smooth handoffs. - Accurately document patient care using Meditech Expanse electronic health records. - Adhere to unit policies and professional dress code requirements. Qualifications & Desired Experience: - Valid RN licensure with proficiency in telemetry monitoring. - Current certifications including Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS). - Prior experience in cardiac step-down or tele units, with familiarity in stroke and cardiac management protocols. - Ability to perform specialized procedures such as thoracentesis, CIWA assessments, and pacemaker care. - Comfortable working three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend or a 4-week shift schedule.
