Job Description:
Quality Clinicians is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg /
Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Nashua, New Hampshire.Job
Description & Requirements
36 or 48 hours accepted
EOW required
Float required to other MS areas
Telemetry Exam on Arrival: Expected to use calipers, interpret
various rhythms including but not limited to; sinus rhythms,
arrhythmias, blocks, paced rhythms, life threatening arrythmias.
The test is closed book, proctored, and has a 60 minute time
limit
*reduced rate for local travelers will apply*
Minimum Experience Required: 2 years
Unit Accepts 1st time Traveler: No unless over 5 years
experience
Epic charting experience required!
Required Certs: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, 6 hour stroke training
Required Skills: Telemetry, Peripheral IV Insertion, Post cardiac
cath recovery, Managing central lines, Feeding tubes, Dysrhythmia
interpretation exam on arrival
Preferred Skills: CAPD, Charge (Night shift), Post pacemaker
recovery
Avg. Daily Census: 20
Rooms/beds: 22
Staffing Ratios: 1:6
Patient Diagnoses: 4 West 22 bed unit with all private beds Adult
Med Surg patient type is Renal and Pulmonary as well as Stroke.
Cardiac monitoring for chronic dx: A-fib, Paced Rhythms, and Stroke
Rule Outs. They also manage telemetry for low risk Syncope and
Chest Pain. Heparin drips for Cardiac (NSTEMI) PE DVT Vascular and
rarely Cardizem for A-fib.
Special Procedures/Unit Details: As a member of the Patient Care
Services team, the 4 West Registered Nurse provides comprehensive
and compassionate nursing care to adolescent and adult patients
with a variety of diseases and illnesses but focusing on stroke,
respiratory, renal and telemetry care. The registered nurse
successfully completes a competency based orientation program to
become proficient in serving the 4 West patient population.
Special Equipment: Infusions:
Heparin
Amiodarone for atrial dysrhythmias
Dopamine up to 5 mcg/kg/min
Dobutamine up to 5 mcg/kg/min
Diltiazem up to 20 mg/hr
Milrinone up to 0.75/kg/min
Nitroglycerin up to 40 mcg/min
