Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care
related to the surgical environment. Communicates with surgeon and
anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient
condition. Assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and
inventory. Participates in performance improvement activities.
Assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness,
obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate
needs of surgical operating team are met. Monitors, positions and
assists patient during procedure.
Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on
age of the patient and their clinical condition.

Ability to monitor hemodynamic status of patient and correctly
interpret the results.
Ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment on all patients and
reassessments as per policy. This includes neonate, pediatric,

family regarding pain management.
Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that

indicated by the patient's response to treatment and evaluate
overall plan daily for effectiveness.
Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and
evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching

dysrhythmias and treats appropriately based upon ACLS protocol.
Provides care to patients with compromised nutritional/metabolic

Additional Information Please note, Nashoba Valley Medical Center
is taking additional, necessary preparations to ensure patients can
receive compassionate care in a safe, carefully managed environment
- with confidence and without fear. Our Safe and Ready program
consists of a rigorous [five-point] standard ensuring patient
safety, confidence and convenience: Expanded hours will allow
previously cancelled procedures to be scheduled as quickly as
possible. Any COVID-19 related care takes place in designated areas
away from other patients and their families. Emergency Departments
are reorganized to be a safe place to treat all emergency patients.
A stringent cleaning policy has been implemented throughout the
hospital. A strictly controlled visitor and masking policy is
required for patient safety. You can rest assured that we have made
the necessary preparations to provide care in a safe, controlled
