Job Description:
Year Up seeks a dedicated and passionate Instructor for our
Computer Architecture & Systems Fundamentals Training Program. This
role involves empowering young adults by delivering an engaging and
impactful curriculum centering on fundamental computer architecture
and system design. The Instructor will bring alive the intricate
concepts of computer systems to ensure students are job-ready in
this rapidly evolving tech landscape, aligning with our mission to
bridge the opportunity gap for underserved communities. Develop and
teach a detailed curriculum on computer architecture and systems
fundamentals with a focus on practical applications and emerging
technologies. Evaluate and assess student progress and adapt course
materials to meet the group and individual needs. Stay updated with
the latest developments in the field of computer systems and
integrate this knowledge into the curriculum. Provide mentorship
and guidance to students to enhance their professional development
and personal growth. Collaborate with other instructors and staff
to align educational goals with Year Up's strategic mission,
enhancing overall student outcomes. Strong understanding of
computer architecture, system design, and related technologies.
Ability to simplify complex ideas and teach them to students with
varying levels of technical knowledge. Exceptional communication
and interpersonal skills to engage and inspire students. Commitment
to the mission of bridging the opportunity divide among young
adults. Teaching certification is a plus but not required.
Professional certifications in IT or network systems, such as
CompTIA A, CompTIA Network, or Cisco Certified Network Associate
(CCNA), are highly advantageous.
