Job Description:
Develops and maintains data at the internal and client levels
using database technologies -- Oracle, Aerospike, NoSQL, and
Snowflake. Onboards new databases -- routine procedures, database
administration, monitoring, recovery and restart scenarios, error
procedures, distribution of software releases and data, and network
management. Enforces automation in the building, testing, and
deployment of database objects, using Continuous Integration and
Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. Ensures compliance with
security frameworks by defining security requirements and
operational procedures. Primary Responsibilities: Supports mission critical database platforms. Bridges gaps between development and operation activities and
teams. Designs and implements complex databases and business critical
designs. Automates recoverability for highly available databases. Defines and implements complex database and data warehousing
methodologies. Ensures capacity management and performance tuning of assigned
databases. Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. Implements complex and/or business critical database
changes. Identifies environment (operational or application)
modifications to improve security. Diagnoses and troubleshoots storage problems of moderate
complexity. Assesses and communicates the impact of changes to existing
systems. Monitors and reports on the progress of change implementation
efforts. Modifies existing databases and database management systems. Collaborates with programmers and analysts to institute database
changes in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
(SDLC). Develops integration methods for products to ensure
functionality -- customizing commercial databases to fit specific
needs. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Applied Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience performing Oracle database
administration in a financial services environment. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year
of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience
performing Oracle database administration in a financial services
environment. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) performing Oracle database
administration across Oracle Exadata, ESX RAC, Linux RAC platforms,
and Oracle on EC2 in Amazon Web Services (AWS), using Oracle
Enterprise Manager (OEM), TOAD, Oracle SQL *Developer, Oracle
SQL*Plus, Oracle AWR (Automatic Work Repository), and Database
Configuration Assistant (DBCA). DE performing database SQL tuning and troubleshooting in
real-time mission critical database applications using Oracle
Enterprise Manager 13c; and identifying bottlenecks and providing
performance tuning and optimization recommendations based on Oracle
AWR, ASH, and SQLT reports and system diagnostics. DE developing, installing, and managing Oracle replication
technologies using Oracle GoldenGate (Active-Active and
Active-Passive); and creating disaster recovery solutions using
Oracle Active Data Guard. DE building CI/CD pipelines in AWS, using AWS EC2, Stash,
Jenkins, Artifacts, Concourse, CloudFormation Template, and
uDeploy; and performing periodic rehydration of AWS EC2 using
